My field of study is everything that is related to networks, we learn how hackers attacks websites and people, how they find information on people to know how to protect ourselves from these attackers. We also learn everything that is related to networks, networks management, how to create a network, how the communication is made and how does networks work. In this glossary, I will find 20 words that are associated to my field of study and give you their descriptions to help you know more about my program.

An algorithm is a sequence of defined computer instructions that makes the tasks that you want.
Example: Can you make an algorithm that counts the average of boys there is per class?

cryptography

Cryptography is a method to protect information and communications by using codes so only the people who have the key can read the information.
Example: I sent you a crypted file

DDoS

DDoS (Distributed Denial-of-Service) is an attack method to disrupt normal traffic of a server, service or network with a flood of the internet traffic. The attacker is using multiple computer to send more traffic.
Example: I got DDoS by someone.

An emulator is a virtual version of a computer. For example you can use an emulated version of a phone in your computer.
Example: I use a phone emulator because I lost mine.

Ethernet

Ethernet is a way to connect computers together in a local area network or LAN.
Example: I use an Ethernet cable to get a better connection.

an IP address is a numerical label assigned to each device connected to a computer network that uses the Internet Protocol for communication. An IP address serves two main function: host or network interface identification and location addressing

A scripting language is a computer language with a series of commands that are made by someone to do a specific job.

A network switch is a networking hardware that connects devices on a computer network by using packet switching to receive and forward data to the destination device.
Example: I used a switch to create a network connection between me and my friend.

Trojan horse

A Trojan horse in computer science is a type of malware disguised as a legitimate software. Trojans can be employed by hackers who try to gain access to user systems to delete data, block data, modify data, copy data or disrupt the performance of computers or computer network.
Example: I installed a Trojan horse by accident and i lost all of my data.
